. john mccain who served the country admirbly has become an angry fellow taking an occasional break to see who is he, enough of this when his allies get out of hand. ted cruz starts attacking the loyalty of america, of one of mccain's fellow vets. the viciousness is something we haven't seen before because of its combination of mccarthyism and weird unconnectedness, attacking chuck hagel because no one will give info about the benghazi situation, even though hagel wasn't even in the government when benghazi happened. sick stuff. seems to be growing. the better he looks the worst these characters, inhofe, cruz and lindsey graham are determined to look. notice the smile on john boehner's face sitting behind the president at the state of the union. if you did you're imagining things. so afraid of the hard hating right are republicans these days of every stripe even boehner's scared of looking like he might actually like something barack obama had to say. to do that today is to risk political death in these days of republican defeat, anger, discontent and downright hatred. joy reid of t

steadily. everybody knows where everybody stands so let's have a vote on it. >> i want to play what john mccain said this morning. >> leaks don't happen in washington by accident. this raises the question that many of us continue to wonder about. does the president really want a result or does he want another cadgeal to beat up republicans to get political advantage in the next election. >> who and/or what do you believe is behind the leak? >> it is interesting what senator mccain said about the next election because president obama was just reelected. house democrats would like to win back control of the house and they look at this as a political tool for them. there is a plan floating out there and they are talking to different groups. they are not really talking to republicans on capitol hill as senator mccain is pointing out. the nitty-gritty particulars of these two proposals that are out there, the gang of eight that senator mccain is a part of, the principles there are not all that different from what is in this draft legislation that was leaked to "usa today." the problem is it is all a

to light and john mccain, even though he think hagel is not qualified, senate should confirm him because of reasonable amount of time for questions to be asked. >> harris: what is the white house saying about this whole episode so far for the hagel nomination? >> president said in a google appearance that much of the talk about benz, many questions were asked about that, benghazi. congress is running out of questions. the nomination of chuck hagel to be defense secretary and john brennan to head the c.i.a. are both hanging in the balance. the chief of staff says that is grave concern. >> between john brennan as c.i.a. director and chuck hagel as secretary of defense. we want make sure we have our guys working. we don't want something missed because of a hangup in washington. >> reporter: another vote on hagel is expected after congress returns. >> hagel is all but confirmed, how will it impacted his ability to be an effective leader. do not miss an all new fox news sunday, that is tonight when chris wallace sits down with lindsay graham, that is coming up at 6:00 p.m. eastern. >> kelly:

market based solution to climate change like the one john mccain and joe lieberman worked on. if congress won't act soon to project future generations i will. >> on thursday the government accountability office came out with a new report identifying risks to the government and at the top was fiscal exposure the federal government faces due to climate change. remarkable. darrell issa had this to say about the gao report. >> i don't want to walk away from anything in this report. when you look at climate change and hurricane sandy and others, it points out that we have underprepared through fema and through our emergency funds including flood control for a generation. >> finally this week senators bernie sanders and barbara boxer introduced a climate bill in the unlikely event it will pass would represent a major victory for the climate, for environmentalists and enable the environmental protection agency to regulate fracking. after several years of exile, climate policy is back on the agenda. thank god. now i don't want to minimize how far things have to go and how many challenges there ar
